pcs333 Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 HiI have the usual hissing noise coming from the footwell of my 98 2.3 Galaxy. Its the servo valve under the brake pedal. It hisses when no pressure is applied and decreases the harder I push he pedal. So I am pretty sure it needs replacing. :) Does anyone know of any guides for this job?Looks like a pig to me, but cant afford to get a garage to do it. Any advice appreciated. ;) CheersKev Quote
gregers Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 long shot i know, but when i bought my old mk1 i paid a visit to my local fords to see if it had missed any recals.guess what it had,for a brake servo/master cylinder work, all free.might be worth an ask.:) Quote

The other recall (as I recall ;) ) involves changing the brake reservoir cap for a different more waterproof one along with a free brake fluid change. Either way, dont get you hopes up too high... gregers Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 im probably wrong seatkid, but iirc it was because they recommended the wrong brake fluid/or the longevity of the change of said fluid, again iirc they changed more then the cap or spring. OP,go to the ford etis site, type in your reg and see if there are any outstanding recalls?or pay a visit to your local dealer and ask them to do a check.no harm in asking, dont ask dont get. Quote
